Some 20 years ago, we meet the most wonderful family at Chernow House homeless shelter (now Communidad Cesar Chavez). Herberto and Julia had five children and they became part of Camp Baywatch’s (now A Chance for Children) many on-going programs over the years. The childen attended camp, participated in trips like New York and Washingotn D.C. They were part of our annual Christmas events. Tai even sttod up for daughter Esther at city hall when she got married. The family is still very present in our lives. Julia passed away of cancer recently and it broke our hearts. We extend heartfelt love to the Rivas family. We loved Julia and we love you all!
