Ron & Brendon Salisbury hosted our children from Tom Bradley Elementary School for a tour and history lesson of El Cholo, their family restaurant, started in 1927 in their family home. The children were fascinated to learn that the word "Cholo" is now know to mean gangster — but in the old days it meant a kind field hand. The children got to go in the kitchen and see how tortillas were made and see various dishes being prepared. They tasted sample platters and learned to make guacamole and many tasted it for the first time. It was a wonderful outing and we al thank Ron, Brendon, Dawn, & El Cholo Restaurant for a wonderful time and yummy food!
