Julia Bakerink is sixteen years old. She just opened her first bank account. She had $460.00.
Julia has volunteered over the past few years at ACFC summer camp and other events throughout the year.
Days ago, I opend a card from her to find a check from her — the first she had ever written made out to A Chance for Children. The check was for $400 to send children to camp this summer.
Julia has the summer before her. Friends, movies, coffee, theme parks — fun. She could have used her money on herself and her friends. Instead, she gave selflessly to our children. Children she has touched and children that have touched her.
Thank you Julia. You are my hero…A Chance for Children’s hero and an amazing role model.
